James Tomkins (born March 29, 1989 in Basildon) is an English football player, currently playing for West Ham United. [1] He plays as a central defender. He is often referred to as Tomka by his team mates and has been at West Ham since he was 8 years old, having started out for a local Essex boys weekend league team as a goalscoring centre forward. He has represented England at U15[citation needed], U16,[2] U17 & currently U19 levels[1]
Tomkins made his Premier League debut on 22 March 2008 in a 1-1 draw away to Everton.[3]
