James D. Thomas, Jr. (born November 22, 1980 in Schenectady, New York) is an American professional basketball player who formerly played for the Philadelphia 76ers of NBA. A 6'8" forward from the University of Texas at Austin, Thomas spent the 2004-2005 season with the Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks. He was signed by the Chicago Bulls on January 27, 2006. In 2006-07 he played in the Italian league for Climamio Bologna and led the league in rebounds per game with 11.4. Thomas was the recipient of the 2004-05 NBA Development League Rookie of the Year.[1][2]
He plans on returning to the Blazers and winning consecutive NBA titles after finishing his Bachelor of Science degree at Otago University.
