James Sanders (born November 11, 1983 in Porterville, California) is an American football safety for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He played college football at Fresno State University.

Sanders attended Monache High School in Porterville, California and was a student and a letterman in football. He was a two-time first-team All-East Yosemite League selection and, as a senior, he was a team captain. He was also named the team's Most Valuable Player, was the East Yosemite League's Most Valuable Player, and was named to the All-Star Defensive Squad by The Fresno Bee. Sanders graduated in 2001.
