Dr. James Rushmore Wood (September 14th, 1816[1]-May 4th, 1882[1]), born in Mamaroneck, New York State,[2] was an American medical doctor, one of the founders of Bellevue Hospital Medical College in New York City.[3] He retired from his university duties in 1868.[4]
