James Ronson

James Ronson is a politician and political activist in Ontario, Canada. He has campaigned for the Canadian House of Commons and the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a candidate of the New Democratic Party.
Ronson is a longtime resident of Perth, Ontario, and had thirty-four years experience as a secondary school teacher at the time of the 2003 election. He is co-chair of the Lanark County Peace Group, and helped to organize Perth's first ever "peace march" in response to the United States of America's threatened invasion of Iraq in 2003. Ronson is also a member of the Lanark—Carleton Coalition for Social Justice, and has fought against the privatization of health care in Canada.
In addition to his political work, Ronson is a member of the Mississippi Valley Field Naturalists and the Society of Ontario Nut Growers. He is a bat enthusiast, and has lectured on bats in the Perth area.
Ronson campaigned for the federal New Democratic Party in the 1968 provincial election, and received 1,861 votes in the riding of Lanark and Renfrew for a third-place finish. The winner was Murray McBride of the Liberal Party of Canada.
He campaigned for the Ontario New Democratic Party in the 2003 provincial election, and received 3,554 votes (5.87%) for a third place finish in Lanark—Carleton. The winner was Norman Sterling of the Progressive Conservative Party.
