James Payment

James Payment, also known as Jimmy P. Lightning, is a Canadian drummer.

James Payment was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He began playing drums at age 11 on a 5 piece Gretsch set. As a young teen James and three friends started a metal band, Domestic Violence.

At age 18, James made a close move into downtown Toronto where he and close friend, former metal band member, Justin Small, united with Charles Spearin and founded Do Make Say Think, who was soon after joined by Ohad Benchetrit and another drummer, David Mitchell.

Although Jimmy P. Lightning is best known for drumming with Do Make Say Think, he is also a member of the 6 piece rock ensemble Z'HowndZ and drummer in a freak metal band Gesundheit. James Payment also does solo work for fun, film and television, and when not on tour he enjoys playing and recording in his home on his 1945 vintage W.F.L. drum set.
