James Moriarty (born 13 August 1936 is the Bishop of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, Ireland. He was born in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He was ordained a priest on 21 May 1961 for the Archdiocese of Dublin. On 26 June, 1991 he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin and Titular Bishop of Bononia[1]. He was ordained a bishop on 22 September, of the same year. The Principal Consecrator was Cardinal Desmond Connell; his Principal Co-Consecrators were Emanuele Gerada, Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, and Bishop James Kavanagh.
