James McManus (born 15 January 1986 in Banff, Scotland) is a Scottish professional rugby league player for the Newcastle Knights in the Australian National Rugby League competition.
His position of choice is on the right wing. He can also fill in on the left wing and in the centres.
McManus shows amazing speed and footwork which over his short time in the NRL has already left an impact. After the departure of key outside backs from the Newcastle club at the end of 2006, a massive hole was left in their playing roster. McManus has successfully filled this void left by players such as Brian Carney, Matt Gidley and Anthony Quinn and continues to impress. His tackling ability is also a major weapon to his game, possessing the skill to punch above his weight and tackle much bigger opponents; saving tries on countless occasions.
