James G. McCaffrey (born 1960) is an American actor. He is best known for his role in the television series Rescue Me, as Tommy Gavin's dead cousin, Jimmy Keefe. His first role was as a mentally challenged teen, in the movie of the week Bill II: on His Own, the "Bill Sackter" story, which also starred a young Helen Hunt. He also played the lead in the first and last seasons of the series Viper, and the short-lived series Swift Justice. McCaffrey is also known as the voice of the title character in the video games, Max Payne and Max Payne 2, a fugitive cop on a quest of revenge against the murderers of his wife and child.
McCaffrey has also had roles in the television shows As The World Turns and Sex and the City. He has been very active in the Tenessee Williams festival with Stephanie Zimbalist,and is the founding member of SLP.
He has most recently been cast in the Hallmark channel 's movie of the week at the back door which is currently filming inUtah.
