James J. Gross is a lawyer and author of several books on divorce and fathers' rights. He is currently the managing partner of Thyden Gross and Callahan LLP, a law firm in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

James J. Gross received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1970. He also received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri in 1975 where he was on the law review. He received a Mater of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University in 1982.

Gross has practiced family and business law for over thirty years. He was a Chemical Engineer for the Procter & Gamble Company, a lawyer for the Federal Communications Company and in-house counsel for Satellite Business Systems before he entered private practice and started his own law firm.
