James Hayes (US soldier)

James Hayes is a Specialist in the United States Army.[1] On January 28, 2006 Hayes was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to maltreat and two counts of maltreatment in the beating of Afghani captives. He was reduced in rank to private, and sentenced to four months imprisonment. His superior, Sergeant Kevin D. Myricks, was convicted of a role in the same beatings on January 30, 2006.[2]

The beatings the soldiers were convicted for took place in July of 2005.[3]
