James Graham-Brown

James Graham-Brown (born July 11, 1951) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Kent, Derbyshire, and Dorset between 1974 and 1991.

Graham-Brown, who had been a part of the Kent Second XI since 1972, made his County Championship debut in 1974. Bowling at a steady pace, he scored a duck in an innings defeat. After a poor vein of form, he played merely once throughout the entirety of 1975, once again scoring a duck against Oxford University. After a 1976 season of mediocrity, in which Kent finished in fourteenth place, Graham-Brown moved to Derbyshire in time for the start of the 1977 season.

Graham-Brown's two years with the Peakites were to prove erratic, but after a healthy stint in the first team he was to give up the first-class game in 1978. Graham-Brown took to Minor Counties Cricket in 1981, playing for Dorset until 1983, and between 1989 and 1991.

Graham-Brown's great-uncle, Lionel Blaxland, played first-class cricket for Derbyshire, primarily between 1932 and 1935.

He is currently headmaster of the independent girls' school, the Royal High School, Bath on Lansdown in Bath.

He enjoys directing many small plays. He has recently undergone a hip replacement.
