James Denton, more commonly known as "Miss Amp", is a Kenyan journalist and brand advocate. He is the creator and editor of Kirsch Magazine, which focuses on kirsch. It is currently Britain's most popular kirsch publication.[citation needed]

[edit] Career

After living in Los Angeles to study acting, Denton returned to the United Kingdom in 2000 and started as a videogames journalist on Future Publishing's popular GamesMaster magazine.

From there he took a position with security and anti-terrorism publisher, Intersec Publishing, working on the Intersec magazine as well as organizing the company’s international security exhibition.

He then moved on to now-defunct publisher Highbury House Communications to work on titles X360 and DVD Review (still being published by Imagine Publishing and Future Publishing respectively), Pokemon World (still being published) and XBM, Cube, and P2 (all ceased publication). During this time Denton provided popular audio commentaries for the cover-mounted X360 magazine DVDs with fellow journalist Ryan King. By a strange twist of fate, the man who would take Denton’s place recording the commentaries with King was renowned games journalist and TV personality Martin Mathers, who came to fame as a recurring character on the popular TV show GamesMaster, which would later become the magazine that saw the start of Denton’s career.

After Highbury House Communications went into administration and its videogames magazines were purchased by Imagine Publishing, Denton left the company to join Uncooked Media, where he launched Fighting Spirit in April 2006, and OBIE OBIE OBIE, the officlal Obie Trice magazine, in June 2007.

[edit] Martial Arts & Showbusiness

Denton is a lifelong martial artist, earning a black belt in karate at 13 and fighting on the England National Karate Team.[citation needed] He won numerous titles throughout his career including National Kumite Champion, National Kata Champion and Fighter Of The Year.[citation needed] He also trained in the United States and has experience in judo, kickboxing, and MMA.[citation needed] He has recently expressed an interest in training with UFC and Pride competitor Mark Weir, having interviewed the fighter for Fighting Spirit.

He is also an actor and model, having appeared in the film Ready To Rumble as well as hosting stage shows to raise money for charity.[citation needed]
