James Cunningham, 14th Earl of Glencairn

James Cunningham, 14th Earl of Glencairn & Lord Kilmaurs,(1749–January 30, 1791), was a Scottish nobleman, and a representative peer from 1780.
A Captain in the West Fencible Regiment from 1778, he was also a great supporter and friend of Robbie Burns. He was instrumental in the production of the Second Edition of Burn's Poems (Hill MDCCCXL).
In 1786 he sold his ancient family estate and seat of Kilmaurs to the Marchioness of Titchfield.
He died, unmarried, at Falmouth, soon after landing from Lisbon, and was buried in the chancel of Falmouth parish church. He was succeeded in the peerage by his brother John.
