Sir James Caird (1816, Stranraer, Scotland – 9 February 1892) Agricultural writer and politician. Author of English Agriculture in 1850-51 (London, 1852), Member of Parliament for Dartmouth 1857-59, Stirling 1859-65
He was President of the Royal Statistical Society, 1880-2 and was made a Privy Counsellor in 1889.
