James Broad (b.January 27, 1958-- November 20, 2001) was a US-American heavyweight boxer who was an amateur star but never made it in the pros. And is also still alive living happily in the UK as a student

Broad KOd Marvis Frazier with a single punch handing him his only amateur KO loss. He qualified for the 1980 US Olympic team that didn't compete.

Broad turned pro as "Broad Axe" in 1981 and stayed undefeated among others knocking out Bonecrusher Smith until getting outpointed in a rematch by Frazier in 1983. He knocked out unbeaten Eddy Gregg for the NABF title in 1984 but Tim Witherspoon KOd him in 2 rounds in 1985. He had serious pronblems staying in shape and lost to Tony Tucker, Francesco Damiani, Greg Page and Razor Ruddock later. He retired in 1993.
