James A. Champy

James A. Champy is one of the founders of the management theory behind Business process reengineering (BPR), and proponent of a process oriented view of business management. Re-engineering the corporation: A manifesto for business revolution, the book written by him in 1993 along with Michael Hammer was instrumental in capturing the focus of the business community towards BPR. A massive 2.5 million copies of the book were sold and the book remained on the "New York Times Best Seller list" for more than a year. He is also the author of Reengineering management: The mandate for new leadership, first published in 1996 and recognised by BusinessWeek to be among the top ten business books of the year. He is currently the chairman of Perot Systems's consulting practice.
