Jamel Richardson (born January 22, 1982 in Syracuse, New York) is an American football wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes. He is a former wide receiver for the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders. Richardson was a two year All American in Football and All Foothill Conference in Basketball at Victor Valley College where he lead the state in reception and yardage. He attended Corcoran High School.
Richardson was signed by the Dallas Cowboys from the CFL in March but faced an uphill battle at making the Cowboys' roster due to the depth Dallas had at the wide receiver position. Another wide receiver, Jamaica Rector, was also part of the August 27 roster cuts. Rector was a veteran of Cowboys camp having made the squad in 2006. On August 27, 2007, the Dallas Cowboys waived Richardson, along with seven other players, as part of its roster cuts prior to the start of the 2007 Regular Season.
On March 18, 2008, the Montreal Alouettes signed Richardson.[1]
