Mayers who currently plays forward for the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues. He was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft 89th overall in the 4th round.

He was a member of the 2007 Canadian IIHF World Championship team that won gold in a 4–2 win against Finland in Moscow.
