Jam Science is the second full-length Shriekback album, released in 1984 as a followup to the Care album. It was modestly successful, though unlike Care was not released on CD in any market.
Jam Science was released on Arista Records, though it was originally recorded for Shriekback's old label, Y Records. In a strange turn of events, Y retained rights to early recordings of many of the songs, and released another 8-song album called "Jam Science" the same year in their home Dutch market. The cover art of this oddity is a large screw, intended as an epithet directed towards the band for abandoning the label just as their career was taking off. This alternate album features two other never-released songs, "International" and "Putting On The Pressure".
