[edit] Summary

Non-free / fair use media rationale for Leslie Phillips
Description

While at an unusual pet competition, held within the confines of a church, Mr Tibbs (the lion) enters the judging area without his owner, scaring the wits out of all. Though initially shocked, James "Jimmy" Fox-Upton (Leslie Phillips) takes up the challenge to confront Mr. Tibbs, and surprisingly finds him to be tame, announcing to everyone that " he's as gentle as a pussycat" to the relief of everyone else in the hall. The competition was also rigged where the vicar and the other organiser of the competition expected the judges James Fox-Upton and Bob Skeffington (James Booth) to award Mrs Muriel Muswell's pekingese dog Ming Ling first prize, in order to get more funds for Church Hall Repairs Fund, from her husband, Mr Muswell (Colin Gordon), who also lectured both judges, recently appointed head of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (in order not wishing to lecture Fox-Upton in case he fails in a subject by him again), who also discreetly keeps an eye on both (particularly on Fox-Upton) trouble-prone vets.
