[edit] Sub-pages for discussions
My page for collaborators on SGI issues: If you're cooperating on an article related to SGI and want to know more about me, this is what you're looking for.
My dear friend!
Obviously you are still around here.
After long reconciliation I shall probably return to Wiki.
Schön, dass Du auf den Eintrag „Gersdorff“ stets ein Auge hattest und hast.
Please, do so in the future as well. Even it may be something like “my baby”, wäre es ohne Deine fachmännische Hilfe niemals zustande gekommen.
Mein Sorgenkind and the reason to have a break from Wiki was the controversy about “Red Army atrocities (WWII)” which is now called “Soviet war crimes”… .
Well, there may be a battleground for my future engagement in here.
Jusqu'à alors!

[edit] Gaijin da!
I get the impression that a few of these editors are just biding their time--waiting for us to leave so that they can write whatever they want without the source material. Bizarre really, J Readings (talk) 11:34, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Same here. I wonder whether they really don’t get it about providing sources and such. I watch several pages that deal with Nazi Germany, WWII inn Europe, German resistance to the Nazis, and the Holocaust; the same sort of thing happens with those articles, too. It’s been interesting to be called a Holocaust denier and anti-Semite, and an anti-German apologist for Jews in the same day—just for asking for sources! :D But thanks for teaching me the importance of this sort of thing in contributing to Wikipedia—that, and always keeping a cool head, without engaging people over their insults. I’ve been really happy to learn how many people who were initially obnoxious become very easy to work with once they realize that you won’t deal with them on that level. It seems like some of them attack first as a preemptive defense, but turn civil when they realize that you’re not interested in arguing opinions. Have a good new-year's holiday! - Same to you. Happy Holidays! J Readings (talk) 01:15, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for the kind words on the Gaijin talk page today. Shame it had to end this way, but I'm simply tired and need a break. Life is too short to waste it on this kind of stuff.

- I wouldn't be surprised if an SPA returns over the next few weeks and tries to reinsert unsourced or unreliably sourced edits to the lead section. Good luck to the next generation of editors on that article. May they have better luck at producing a good, stable article than we had! <g> J Readings (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

- Well, the thing to do is watch and see what happens. Personally, I'd like to see you publish your findings. I must say that I really admire your dedication, not to mention your ability to continue such an effort, and I wish I had your self-discipline at that respect. Hope to see you around! :) Jim_Lockhart (talk) 12:23, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your failure and contradiction
You don't know anything about the person at all. I think I've met the person so many times. However, right now, I'm more upset at your so-called mature advice (in your dream). If you want to persuade someone, please don't use the insulting, inflammatory languages like childish, foolish, belligerent, or 難癖. With the languages, you look so contradictory to your wordings. In addition, you gave him a milder and kinder advice than your harsh words to me. Of course, you're deeply associated wit Japanese project here. You're not in the position to judge fairly. My Japanese is not good but can read what you wrote in Japanese at his talk page. And I don't need to listen to your chide in your uncivil way. --Appletrees (talk) 03:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- I am not at all involved with the Japan Project—I contribute to articles related to Japan (as well as several other subjects) totally independently.
My advice was worded differently for the two of you because I was writing in different languages. I expressed myself in a manner I felt would be most effective for my purpose, which is to call to your (plural your) attention that (the two of) you are being disruptive and making public fools of yourselves, and to get you to stop it.
Every one of your edit comments accompanying reverts of Orchis29’s contributions, as well as your comments on his talk page, are characterized by the same antagonistic tone and personal attacks on display in your comment here, hence I do not see any contradiction in pointing that out to you; nor was my comment on your talk page worded in an antagonistic or uncivil manner. I also noticed from edit trails that you have been following Orchis29’s edits of other articles and making similar comments; note that some people might view that action as a form of harassment. Others may disagree with my interpretation, but in my opinion your actions are the more egregious and therefore worthy of stronger censure.
In any case, the purpose of my comments on both of your talk pages was the same: To get you two to stop edit-warring. Respond as you will, but nothing justifies the edit warring or the exchanges of nasty comments the two of you are engaging in. It is also disruptive. So again: please stop. Best regards, Jim_Lockhart (talk) 09:45, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

- You're so arrogant and insulting. I said if you want me to listen your advice, you should've written in a civil way instead of making personal attacks in your harsh wordings. Please don't violate wiki policy and don't act like a privileged person to which none gives you. My edits toward Orchis29 were not harassment. I'm waiting for something to be resulted, which is very related to him. And you tried to give me a humiliation unlike your disguise in Japanese language to him. And he even lied on Shiba Ryotoro and you wouldn't lie like him if you had a common sense. Please stop making personal attacks to me any more. please stop. . --Appletrees (talk) 10:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Making a private article for gradual editing and research
Great news. I just found out that we are encouraged by Wikipedia editing guidelines to make our own private copies of an article and slowly research, write and update it over time. This way, there's no time pressure, we don't have to worry about other editors taking offense or exception to our bold edits if the wording is wrong, or if we failed to add known material from reliable sources to counterbalance assertions, etc. I think this is a great idea, and will save us a lot of energy and wasted days trying to do something in one time-consuming stroke. Once it's reasonably solid and incorporates all of the requirements for a WP page, maybe then we can revisit the issue on the actual page for upload. I'll let you know where it is, in case you (and others) would like to contribute to this private page slowly over time. What do you think? J Readings (talk) 01:59, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Great idea! I'd like to help with that.
Btw, you seemed to be right about (an) SPA(s) coming back to re-insert stuff, so I really did take the article off my watch list for a while. I don't want to do anything that will get me accused of edit-warring. Have a good one.——Jim_Lockhart (talk) 07:12, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- It's a waste of time to edit war with these SPAs and, frankly, we all have better things to do.
-
- The private copy can be found here. Please feel free to talk about ideas on the private discussion page, or start editing the text. I started to place references on the talk page, but I'm still missing quite a few. Little by little we can start adding citations.
-
- This private article is now on my watchlist, so hopefully we can follow our own edits, invite other editors to collaborate, and hopefully produce something good slowly over time. Best, J Readings (talk) 07:22, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Himmler homosexual
Hello, my name is Ahmed and I'm Israeli. I hope you're fine. Well, I don't know if it's true but I have heard and read that Heinrich Himmler had sex (many times) with German soldiers in the 20's. Many people think that it's a lie from British but I don't know what to do... Was he homosexual? Should he be put into LGBT people from Germany? Ahmed987147 (talk) 22:47, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have never read anything authoritative to the effect that Himmler was homosexual. OTOH, I've never look specifically into the question, so I don't think I'm qualified to give you a definite answer. Good luck, Jim_Lockhart (talk) 07:48, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unsourced content
Please do not readd unsourced content to the Hogan Heroes article. Please see talk page. Thank you.--70.109.223.188 (talk) 13:58, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Middle Japanese
Hi Jim. I hope you're enjoying the 三連休. I decided to finally get around to writing the Middle Japanese article that I had been promising for so long. It has some rough spots and could benefit from a review if you are interested. Yeah, I'll get around to EMJ someday, but don't ask me when. Bendono (talk) 13:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Slp1 AND gaijin
Remember the good Samaritan dream for the gaijin page? Well, an editor called User:Slp1 kindly picked up the gauntlet, unsolicited, and has taken it upon him(her?)self to do the proper editing for the article. I'm impressed, but now (as predicted) it's created a minor storm in a teacup. Check out the talk page. I somehow got sucked back into helping out. Anyway, your thoughts and criticisms on how to improve the article are always appreciated on that page. Please have a look when you get some time, especially on the latest threads. J Readings (talk) 03:21, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi J, nice to hear from your. Sorry, but I've been kind of steering clear of Wikiediting for while—decided I needed a break. Just too much crap going on with articles I put a lot of work into, and the continuous vandalism was starting to get to me. But I'll have a look just the same. Later, Jim_Lockhart (talk) 14:52, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Believe me, I know how you feel. (^_^) Don't worry about the article, it's not a big deal. J Readings (talk) 17:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Guten Tag,
