Jaloudi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jaludi (also "Jaloudi" (جالودي), "El-Jaludi," and "Al-Jawalda") is a Bedouin tribe/clan from the Arabian Peninsula. The name "Jaloudi" is rooted in several places, i.e., the West Bank in "Jalud" (جالود) a district of Nablus not to be confused with "Ayn Jalut" (عين جالوت), the Abbasids in Baghdad (i.e., Capt. Issa Jaludi under Haroon ar-Rashid's rule), and the "Jaludi" identity/name was also adopted by a group of nomads from Al-Harb (Clan of War) near Abyar 'Ali in Saudi Arabia. Jaludis live in large numbers in the cities of Amman, Mahhis, and El-Sult of Jordan, the West Bank of Palestine ("Jalud") near Jineen city [Faqqua'a], the United States, Syria, Yemen, and a minority reside in Saudi Arabia (descendants of "Al Harb"), Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. The history of the tribe/clan predates partitions and mandates created by the League of Nations. Tribe/Clan members take pride in their Arabian culture and are undeniably loyal to each nation they belong.
