Jalaluddin Patel

Jalaluddin Patel (born in 1976 in London, England) was the leader of UK branch of Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamist organization.[1]
His parents are of Indian origin.[2]
Patel joined HuT in 1994, and became the leader of the UK branch in 2000. HuT members reelected Patel in 2002, and 2004.[2]

In an interview with Jessica Aldred of The Guardian, Patel described the War on Terror as a cover for keeping the Islamic world "uncivil and archaic." He called the discussion of integration of Muslims into British society a "front for coercive assimilation."[1] In a later interview with journalist Mahan Abedin, he called the War on Terror a "war on Islam."[2]
