[edit] LDS Temples
Thought you might like this page I made that has pictures of the temples in ascending order by height. Works best on a monitor with over 1500px width. --Trödel 00:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks :-) – jaksmata 14:27, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Looks like consensus on the village pump is to move the data pages to the template namespace (or template talk namespace - I'm really sure what some people mean). I would propose that we move it to {{LDS Temple/name of temple}} and not include the word data - but wanted to get your thoughts. We should also put an explanation at {{LDS Temple}} with a #REDIRECT to LDS Temple list - so that if someone uses {{LDS Temple}} they will get list template, and also if someone clicks the up a level link on the subpage they will get a message letting them know some detail and pointing them to the project page. Sorry I didn't listen to you back in April - I had forgotten that I had advocated that location so strongly - like I said at VP - your comments must have persuaded me because I've been thinking they should be in the template namespace for a while now. --Trödel 15:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I say we go ahead and move them. I think there was some confusion about the namespace name, but we should move them to "template", not "template_talk". I'm kinda busy with non-WP stuff, so I probably won't be able to help until Saturday (Jan. 5). – jaksmata 16:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Moving them to {{LDS Temple/name of temple}} sounds fine to me. – jaksmata 16:47, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was hoping we could find a bot to move them :) - I've got soccer practice ans some other commitments on Sat but should be able to do some this weekend also. --Trödel 05:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, I have asked a few people on Flickr that have great pictures "all rights reserved" to allow me to use their picture on Wikipedia or change the licensing to cc-sa-by - but have only been successful once. Have you had any luck doing something similar - flickr seems to be the best bet for getting a comprehensive group of pictures for the temples, but too many people reserve all rights on their photos - some not really realizing, I don't think what it means - there is one set of pics from 2005, where the photographer says he likes these pictures he took and wants to share them with everyone but marked them (C) and now I think he has moved on because no newer pics have been posted and there is no response to any email.
Anyway - any good ideas you have on how to get more pics of the temples we don't have pics for would be appreciated. --Trödel 15:11, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have any ideas right now, but it seems like a lot of pictures are around - from what I can tell, temples are popular subjects for amateur LDS photographers. – jaksmata 16:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree - it is a favorite subject - unfortunately they all copyright (or mark at non-commercial) their stuff instead of licensing it freely :( --Trödel 05:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Wow - all those moves manually - thanks alot - sorry I haven't been around. --Trödel 22:05, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. (The moves weren't as time consuming as fixing all the redirects!) – jaksmata 22:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing my cut 'n paste error on Template:LDS Temple/Draper Utah Temple - I looked, and looked, and...missed the caption! MeekMark (talk) 23:55, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:MemberOfCongressReligion
A tag has been placed on Template:MemberOfCongressReligion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
Thank you for participating in my RfA! It was closed as successful with 74 supporting, 3 opposing, and 1 neutral. I will do my best to live up to the trust that you have placed in me. —Remember the dot (talk) 18:49, 13 February 2008 (UTC) |
[edit] Rollback
I looked through your contributions and I believe that when you have reverted edits, you have done so appropriately. So, I have added rollback rights to your account. Please note that rollback should be used only for blatant vandalism and does not leave a useful edit summary. I hope you find it useful, but if not, just ask and I will remove it. —Remember the dot (talk) 22:07, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks! There are actually a lot of articles that I watch for vandalism, and that could be handy. – jaksmata 22:14, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] LDS Temples under construction
FYI - I believe I have under construction temples working with the data template - I have created the {{LDS Temple/Curitiba Brazil Temple}} data page. Let me know if you see any problems. --Trödel 04:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think it works great. I like the idea of using one template that changes behavior based on the temple's status. – jaksmata 16:07, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Leonard Dembo
Changes I appreciate your changes to the contribution by Ishe Chinyoka, which i think were in good faith. However, i think it was not cool for you to make those changes in the first, why??? Well, there are some things that are common knowledge in Zimbabwe. We people from Zimbabwe, we know this, but nobody has ever written anything about it, hence there is no way to quote it. i.e: Ask anybody from Zimbabwe, they know that Dembo was known throughout the country as Musoro Wenyoka. That is redundant common knowledge in Zimbabwe.
That said, i will go ahead and try to salvage the article by making relevant corrections, formatting it etc. I will be doing that in the next few weeks.
I feel that it is CRIMINAL to delete anything from Wikipedia. It is always good to modify/add/contribute. If you can't edit the page, ask other users like us from Zimbabwe who know issues about this article. (i created this page). Here in Zimbabwe, information is difficult to get, so i feel that when somebody has added something, it should be protected (edit to meet the standards) rather than deleted. I think the writer provided valuable information, and i think it is sad to delete it because the formatting is bad or such. I agree with the concerns you raised on the sources, which i will sort out as time goes on.

[edit] Conclusion: Image placeholders centralized discussion
Hi. I'm sending this to you because you participated in the Centralized discussion on image placeholders that ended on 23 April.
That discussion must produce a conclusion.
We originally asked "Should the addition of this box [example right] be allowed? Does the placeholder system and graphic image need to be improved to satisfy policies and guidelines for inclusion? Is it appropriate to some kinds of biographies, but not to others?" (See introduction).
Conclusions to centralized discussions are either marked as 'policy', 'guideline', 'endorsed', 'rejected', 'no consensus', or 'no change' etc. We should now decide for this discussion.
Please read and approve or disapprove the section here: Conclusion --Kleinzach (talk) 11:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Please note this message conforms to WP:CANVASSING and has not been sent to anyone has not already participated in the centralized discussion.

I give up. I'm taking it off my watchlist. Best of luck to you. I hope it works out.Northwesterner1 (talk) 00:57, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vondelpark
Thank you for you comment to the Vondelpark article entry on Template talk:Did you know. I further expanded the section about the facilities in the park. How much work does the article still need to meet the requirements to be eligible for Did you know? – Ilse@ 20:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- The current article meets the requirements, and I'll note that at DYK. By the way, I think you've written a very interesting article. – jaksmata 21:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] DYK for Ali Saleem
Thanks for pointing out the deniable factuality [obfuscation of reality :), although it was a misreading of the external resource by me] in the DYK I submitted. I have added another reference and have changed the DYK slightly to be adjusted to more factual certainty. Please check. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 03:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- I can't verify the other source due to internet filtering where I'm at right now. Yes, it's frustrating, but there's nothing I can do about it. Someone else will have to check it. Sorry. – jaksmata 16:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
