Hi, Jake, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It's great that you want to help out editing the encyclopedia, but it's really not appropriate to add your own birthday or football games to year/day listings. These pages are reserved for more global events.

Here are some tasks you can do:

Good luck, and -- again -- welcome! --Mgreenbe 12:30, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Tags

Please do not remove an Article for Deletion tag...this does not mean the article will be saved from deletion. Instead, visit the page's deletion discussion page and explain what it is that justifies the page's place on the encyclopedia.jfg284 18:03, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User Page

Okay, you've copied your Jacob Somani page over to your User page, so please allow the Afd described above to run its course - User pages are not the same as encyclopaedic entries. Cheers. Budgiekiller 18:06, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Point of View

Also, it's great to see you're enthusiastic about F.C. Chelsea, and im sure if you contributed to the main page or a player page, your contributions would be fantastic. However, think about this. Because this is an encyclopedia, it is supposed to refelct neutral points of view. As a result, substituting the word "fluke" for "win" is not considered a good edit. Similarly, posting statistics about a Chelsea player on a Man U player's page is also not a good edit. And as for all the goals that are being added to the date pages, maybe think about adding only very important goals, like one to win a Premier League or Champions Leauge Cup? Thanks, jfg284 18:31, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

What was unnecesarry was the comparison. You could've left in the part about his drought with goals (and i did leave it in after reverting it), but the information about the chelsea player would be better placed ont that players page. And a tip: it's considered bad form to not sign (place four tidles, as shown below) after a talk post.

also, it is POV to keep certain things out of articles. just because you support FC Chelsea does not mean that Reyes didnt score twice against them to knock them out of the fa cup, nor that he didnt score a UEFA Champions League goal and consecutive goals in the penultimate two games of the season, which kept Arsenal's unbeaten run going. Please do not remove parts of article's because they're sore spots with you. For reference of what's considerd Point Of View, see WP:NPOV. And lastly, because it just doesnt belong in that particular article. I could just as easily say he has scored x goals, in stark contrast to Tony BLair, who has never scored a competitive goal. However, Tony Blair came under fire from many for supporting the War on Iraq. There's no need to place that kind of comparison in that article.jfg284 20:41, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Days of the Year

I've now reverted your non-notable edit to April 6 at least three times. It's simply not appropriate -- it's one football game, and not even for a title. Note that the other events are in some sense record-setting or important. For example, the beginning of the Rwandan genocide, a major upset in boxing, or the foundation of Cape Town. If I've somehow misunderstood the importance of the game (is this the first time Chelsea has beaten Arsenal? the first time in X years?), please respond here or on Talk:April 6 before you add it back. --Mgreenbe 13:52, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

this refers to the Elijah Wood article. If you're doing it on purpose, please stop. If you don't know why this is inappropriate, read some of the links posted above on your talk page before you delete them.jfg284 18:09, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] a bunch of stuff

G'day Jake,

it's good to see you know a fan of Elijah Wood. That's great. But consensus is clearly against you in this case. Please stop adding irrelevant details and fansites to the Elijah Wood article. In fact, it's probably best if you just stop editing Elijah Wood altogether. That'd be tops.

Also, just a note that it's considered poor form to blanket delete comments from your talkpage, even nasty ones. I won't undo your edits to your own userspace, but keep in mind that it looks bad in the eyes of the community. Cheers, mate, — fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 18:16, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
