[edit] Jake's Age
Where does his age of 31 come from? Was it mentioned on the show, or is it based on the assumption that the show takes place sometime in 2008? If he was indeed born in Jan 1977, then right now he would only be 29 years old. If it was stated on the show that his age was 31, then it would lend credence to the idea that the show is set after Jan 2008.--Mbaur181 16:52, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- In Ep1, while he's talking to his father, he says something along the lines of 'Don't you understand that I'm 32 now' -HawkeVIPER 00:30, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- If it now 2009, He's been gone 5 years that means he left in late 2004 - AFTER the majority of the International travelling?!? Ethikos 06:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

- This is blind speculation, but perhaps his international travel is what lead to his `going away' for 5 years? -HawkeVIPER 06:21, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

- As the commentary states that the song Nothing Compares 2 U (1990) was the hit when Jake was 16. In the first ep he says that he is 32. Thereby, making the year the show takes place is 2006. Also Jake is the older brother; which does not seem like that is the case. I do hope that the commentary is not cannon to the show and a rewrite puts the events of the show in the future around 2010 and the character history is corrected to place Jake as the younger brother. [edit] Use of English on the Wiki entry
"It is assumed that more about Jake's past will be revealed as the series continues. It is hinted that Jake had a close relationship with Emily Sullivan before he left Jericho"
This sentence really needs to be re-worked into less of a mouthful -HawkeVIPER 00:30, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NSA Reference
There was an edit adding a reference to Richard Hawking's laptop saying somehting about jake being in the NSA. I went through the laptop scenes and couldn't see any reference to the NSA, except something in the background behind the 'window' containing his laptop. I'm reverting that edit.
- I agree, i spent about 2 hours going over that laptop scene for clues. Aside from the codes in the bottom left, which don't seem to relate to Jake in anyway, there's nothing there that gives details above where he has been. Parts of the passport are also 'fuzzed' out, tho I don't have a copy of a US passport to had to figure out exactly what has been obliterated -HawkeVIPER 06:21, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

- Further to this, I'm 99% sure this segment is incorrect:
-
"It is later revealed that the FBI has flagged Jake's passport for non-cooperation on an undercover mission against a private military company, a splinter of Ravenwood."
-
- Given that the FBI encounter takes place after Jake refuses to explain his flagged passport during the interview to work as a pilot, the passport flagging would seem to be for some other reason than this. Unless I missed something that was inferred? I'm removing it from the main page until it's been decided one way or another. --HawkeVIPER 07:31, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

- From the interview it is stated that the US State Department has listed Jake as a person of interest. The interviewer questions why Jake would be a person of interest to the US State Department; to which Jake replies that he worked for a large PMC and implies that there is an NDA - a deal breaker for the interviewer and Jake. From the meting with the FBI it is stated that the FBI will put Jake on a no fly list (passport flagged) if he does not cooperate in the infiltration and subversion of the Ravenwood (PMC) splinter group Jake and Freddy (sp) are set to contract with. After Freddy is seemingly murdered by Ravenwood, Jake goes dark (to Jericho) which presumably leads the FBI to enact their threat - putting Jake on a no fly list. Zoli Elo 08:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Departure after "several days"
In the initial section this passage appears to be incorrect: "Despite the urging of his mother, Gail, to stay, Jake leaves a few days after arriving." In the episode "The Day Before" he is shown arriving in Jericho the day of the nukes, and attempting to leave later that same day. 170.35.224.64 20:39, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Exit/Entry table
I deleted the table on passport entry/exit dates from the section on Jake's background. The details aren't necessary to understanding the character, so its chief contribution was clutter on the page. -- Soren.harward 05:07, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Seeing details from Jake's somewhat "mysterious" background are germane given the leadership responsibilities he has in Jericho after the bombs. But leaving that info out is fine with me, if that is the general agreement. --- Taroaldo 06:30, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
