Jakub Kubicki

Jakub Kubicki (1758-1833) was a renown Polish classicist architect and designer. One of the most renown architects of his epoch, since 1781 he was the personal architect of king Stanisław August Poniatowski. Among the most notable of his works are a number of palaces and summer residences in Poland, including the palaces of Białaczów (1800) and Bejsce (1802). Between 1816 and 1818 he built a dozen or so city limit booths at the outskirts of Warsaw (two are preserved to our times). Between 1818 and 1821 he also designed the reconstructed terrace part of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, known ever since as Kubicki's Arcades and rebuilt the palace of Belweder.
