Jake and the Kid

Jake and the Kid is a collection of short stories by W. O. Mitchell, originally published in 1961. One of his most famous works, many of the stories originally appeared in Maclean's prior to the book's publication. Mitchell also published a sequel volume, According to Jake and the Kid, in 1989.

The book won the Stephen Leacock Award in 1962.

The book has also been adapted into a CBC Radio series which starred John Drainie, and a CBC Television miniseries whose cast included Lorne Cardinal, Michael Hogan, Julie Khaner and Tom Cavanagh.
