It has a strong environmentalist, community focused and anti-car theme. Notable themes include the "tragedy of the commons" (the annexing of common space by private interests), absurdly oversized caricature sport utility vehicles, corruption in urban planning and the destruction of traditional tramways and trolleys.
The eponymous hero, Roadkill Bill, is a squirrel with distinctive tyre tracks across his torso and tail.
The cartoon ran weekly for nearly four years in the twin cities paper Pulse and has been published by Car Busters, proponents of the car-free movement, as well as Funny Times and various anthologies.
