From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
That Roldós died in a fixed-wing crash appears in reports from both the Cuenca newspaper El Mercurio and AP reports; the latter also mention the weather conditions. Ergative rlt 03:13, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Perkin's does not claim that Roldós died in a helicopter crash.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.101.128.25 (talk • contribs)

- Not in a helicopter crash - in a plane crash. Perkins states in the book:
- Nothing was ever proven, but eyewitnesses claimed that Roldós, forewarned about an attempt on his life , had taken precautions, including traveling in two airplanes. At the last moment, it was said, one of his security officers had convinced him to board the decoy airplane. It had blown up.

- Good to see it's been corrected - the first edition clearly states "helicopter" on pages 156-157. As many sites on the net continue to say helicopter, and all seem to draw on Perkins, I'm leaving a modified version of the original claim in. Ergative rlt
