Talk:Jaime Murray
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
How old is she? I saw an article saying she was 25, but she looks older than that.
On TV.com it says that she was born 10-27-1977. Which makes her 28 now. 16:08, 8 April 2006 (UTC) (72.244.25.254)
[edit] TV Advert
I saw an advert for Debenhams today (20th Sept 06) on TV in the UK and i'm not completely certain, but i think it was her. Might be worth adding if it can be confirmed.82.24.155.138 19:28, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Yes It is Jaime Murray modeling clothes for Debenhams. Thx Jaime
[edit] What?
"In the BBC series Hustle, Jaime Murray wore a Wonder Woman costume in one episode. Her co-star, Robert Vaughn, liked it so much that he took a copy of the episode back to Hollywood and showed it to executives. On the strength of this Jaime Murray was invited to audition for the part."
Erm, audition for what part? By this point she was already in Hustle, so what part is the writer referring to? —This unsigned comment was added by Mouse Nightshirt (talk • contribs) .
I rewrote this paragraph because it was taken word-for-word from the IMDb. As far as I can tell, the IMDb is the only source, which makes it dubious at best since the IMDb on more than one occasion has allowed hoax information to get through. If no one can provide a reputable source (and not just someone citing IMDb) I wouldn't complain if it were removed altogether. 23skidoo 18:06, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I have included 2 links on the main page underneath the text which its states Jaime has been invited to audition as Wonder Woman. One is from the official bbc website. Jaime has also stated in past television interviews in the UK that she has been invited to audition. 04 JULY 2006
- I'm still dubious because both links -- yes including the BBC one -- seem to be simply parroting the original IMDb trivia item. I've been unable to find any independent confirmation that she ever wore a Wonder Woman costume in any episode of Hustle. There are celebrity sites out there that lovingly screencapture whenever Murray wears a sexy outfit (i.e. when she appeared as a stripper in one episode, for example) yet none of these sites have any images of her in a Wonder Woman outfit. If no one can independently confirm that she wore the outfit in the show (and c'mon it's internationally popular so SOME Wikipedia contributor must have seen it!) then this should be removed as unconfirmed. Note that I'm not necessarily disputing the claim that she tested for Wonder Woman though it would be nice to have a source cited. It is telling that the Associated Press article [1] makes no reference to Wonder Woman. 23skidoo 13:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- She wears a superhero costume in the episode with the comic book auction, in the geeky character's daydream, I think. I'll try to remember to check the DVD. —Whouk (talk) 15:01, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Cool! (Hopefully it's during the first season which we're just now getting in Canada). I for one am NOT disappointed to have this confirmed. Now all we need is something to substantiate the "Robert Vaughn recommending Jaime for the audition" part of the rumor. 23skidoo 16:09, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Go to this site an watch the video 'Jaime talks about sex appeal and glaming up' She is wearing the wonder woman costume in this video. that link you posted from CNN I've checked it out but they didnt ask her if she auditioned for wonder woman so she wouldnt necessarily have told them. The official bbc website with the first link on is her official site so what ever is posted on that one is genuine. Honestly it has been mentioned in the uk in magazines and newspapers that she has been invited to audition. At the end of the day its an audition its not saying she has got the part. I dont know what all the fuss is about. Check out the link below.[[2]] 01:37 07 july 06
- The above unsigned message was left by an editor with the username "Jaimemurray". Of course there's no telling if this is the real Jaime Murray, but if it is -- welcome aboard! The fuss is only over trying to be as accurate and verifiable as possible. Wikipedia has in the past been stung by incorrect and sometimes outright fake information being added to articles since anyone can edit, so sometimes things need to be checked out. For example there's enough proof out there that Jamie is or was a contender for the WW role (and for the record she's my favorite candidate for the job!), so that's not an issue. And the fact she does wear a WW costume has now been confirmed (we're only up to episode 3 here in Canada so I needed someone elsewhere who has seen the episode in question to make sure it wasn't just something someone posted just 'cuz). So those two points are now moot. Now we have the question as to whether Robert Vaughn was responsible for her getting the audition. All references to this seem to derive from the IMDb listing -- and the IMDb has its own credibility problems. So we just need to check this out. This is supposed to be a serious encyclopedia (so I've been told anyway) so whether we're doing an article on an actress or an article on quantum physics, the one thing in common is to be accurate and verifiable. Cheers! 23skidoo 02:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
It first appeared on the BBC website since then it has been posted on numerous sites most notably the iMDb. It was posted on the iMDb after it was posted on the BBC website, so this means that someone has seen it and posted it on iMDb or the BBC have released the information to iMDb. More importantly the BBC information is not user edited so its not like anyone can change that info it has to be someone who works for the BBC. In the UK Jaime is more in the press than she maybe in the US. So there is more interviews in newpapers and magazines ect.. about her audition. Thx Jaime, 07 July 06
[edit] Jaime's accent
Hi,
I'm interested in knowing with which accent does Jaime speak (at least in Dexter series)? Does't anybody know it? Is it RP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Received_pronunciation) or any british regional accent? Which one? Just curious. Thanks a lot in advance, --Adumont (talk) 15:40, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- In the Hustle and Dexter it's pretty much RP - definitely not "Essex girl". – ukexpat (talk) 22:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
