[edit] Mainstream acting career

Her role in the long-running sitcom Family Matters is best known for being written out of the show without explanation. Subsequent episodes have the Winslows acknowledging only two children. [1]

Foxworth's part was gradually reduced to make more room for Steve Urkel (Jaleel White). In terms of popularity, Urkel quickly eclipsed all others on the show, and many of the earlier performers were eventually written out of the series altogether. Foxworth's character, "Judy", was the first of several characters to vanish from the series with no explanation or mention as Urkel took over the show.[citation needed]

[edit] Transition to pornographic films

With very little acting work coming in the years after Family Matters, Foxworth battled alcoholism, depression and destitution prompted in part by a judge's ruling that her trust fund of over $500,000 be used to save her family from bankruptcy. Foxworth later switched briefly to adult films, her pornographic career lasting less than two years and including only a small number of appearances. Foxworth later claimed that her parents had squandered her trust fund and she had no money to her name. [2]
