Jahir Khan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mohammed Jahir Khan is a senior Fijian police officer of Indian descent. As of January 2007, he holds the position of Senior Superintendent.[1] He resigned from the Fiji Police force to take up his new post in Solomon Islands as the new Police Commissioner in 2006[2], a position which he held until May 2008.[3] [4] He was reportedly asked to step down by Solomon Islands Prime Minister Derek Sikua.[5]

Upon Khan's departure from the Solomons, the Solomon Times reported that he praised RAMSI for its commitment[6], whereas ABC Radio Australia reported that he criticised it for its lack of consulting of the Solomon Islands Police Force.[7]
