Jahanu

Jahanu was an ancient Hindu sage. According to mythology, upon being disturbed by the passage of the Ganga river, he drank up the entire river. Afterwards, when his wrath has subsided, he relented, and allowed the river to issue out of his ear. . Accordingly, one of the names of Ganga is Jahanvi, that is, the some of the river ganga.
