Such a thing can be done with a bot: look at the article history of virtually any US place, and you'll see that most of the earliest edits were done by usernames of "____bot". I don't know about you, but I know nothing about running a bot. If you do, by all means write one and seek to get approval (look here for the bot policy): it will help us all, I'm sure. Hi again. Well, downsampling by definition should increase the sharpness, not decrease it. There isn't any real secret to how I do it. I downsample it using Photoshop CS3 using the default settings (but Elements should do just as good a job) and then, if it needs it, sharpen it with around 50% strength and a radius of about 0.7 which generally gives it a good sharpening without creating too much of a halo around the edges. I was going to nominate your Munsell-system.svg image as a Featured Picture when I saw it had already been nominated - and was turned down. I was surprised they complained that one couldn't understand it at a glance - I DID understand it at a glance, and was so happy with its effectiveness I wanted to nominate it. Also, this is unrelated, but w.r.t. color theory, "lightness" and "value" mean basically the same thing, so your change to that article doesn't really affect its accuracy. :) --jacobolus (t) 10:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. On the idea of fighting vandalism: you reported 212.121.193.252 for vandalism to Birkenhead after the final warning, but the Birkenhead vandalism was actually a minute before the final warning was given. I've blocked, but only because the IP committed yet more vandalism afterward. Not trying to nag or anything, but could you go a little faster? Nyttend (talk) 12:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm well aware it's difficult; I ended up blocking one before other admins got to the rest. My apology in turn: I was simply trying to get stuff done and didn't pay attention to the IP's history, other than to note its last two vandalisms. Nyttend (talk) 12:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, no hard feelings for sure :-) I've known being stressed out; you can see Jay S.
