Talk:Jaguar AJ-V6 engine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is this the same as Jaguar AJ6 engine?

Nope, the Jaguar AJ6 engine is a straight-6 developed by Jaguar. The Jaguar AJ-V6 engine is a V6 based on the Ford Duratec 30. --SFoskett 20:57, Oct 5, 2004 (UTC)
Ah. Thanks for explaining it. Bobblewik  (talk) 20:55, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)

The second variant of the AJ-V6 is not an AJ-V6 at all. It's a Rover KV6, and is used only in the Freelander, not in the UK market Jaguar S-Type, which uses the same Duratec engine. The "extra" power comes from the use of the outdated DIN measurement, instead of the current ECE measurement used in the rest of Europe. --Pc13 14:48, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
