Jagtar Singh Hawara, is a Sikh Millitant belonging to the Babbar Khalsa. He belongs to Hawara village in Fatehgarh Sahib. His father died in 1991. His mother's name is Narinder Kaur. He has had a main role in the assassination of the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He is also responsible for killing a granthi (Sikh priest) of Muktsar at the age of 15, because he claimed the granthi forced upon Sikh girls. [1] [2] Hawara came back into limelight, in 2004, when he escaped from maximum security jail at Burail, along with 2 other Sikh millitants (Jagtar Singh Tara & Paramjit Singh Bheora), the third one was a cook. [3] [4] Hawara was caught again in 2006. On July 31st, 2007, Jagtar Singh Hawara along with Balwant Singh Rajoana was sentenced to be hanged till death.
