Jagannath Mishra

Dr. Jagannath Mishra is an Indian politician and a former Chief Minister of Bihar.He has also been a professor Economics and has done Ph. D in the field of Economics. He is the younger brother of Former Union Cabinet Railway Minister Late Lalit Narayan Mishra .In an era of turbulence and uncertainty in the Bihar Politics around 1989 which witnessed many odds and evens in the entire political history of the state, he succeeded Senior Congress leader and the then Chief Minister of Bihar Late Satyendra Narayan Sinha (Who was affectionately called "Chhote Saheb") to become the C.M. of Bihar for the third time. Earlier during his second tenure as the Chief Minister, his government in the state was dismissed by the ruling Janata Party that came to power at the Center.

He is among one of accused in Fodder Scam case.He is infamous for the multi-million scam which brought bankruptcy to the state.His successor Lalu was one of the main accused in multi-million rupee scam.[1]
