JAGAL

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JAGAL is a natural gas pipeline, which connects Yamal-Europe pipeline with the gas grid of Wingas, a joint venture of Wintershall, the subsidiary of BASF, and Gazprom. JAGAL stands for Jamal-Gas-Anbindungs-Leitung, which means Yamal gas connection network. The construction of JAGAL started in 1995, when 11 kilometers long connection between Yamal-Europe pipeline from the Polish border, near Frankfurt (Oder), to Mallnow compressor station was laid down. The second section of JAGAL from Mallnow to Baruth, also in Brandenburg with a length of 100 kilometers was completed in 1997. 225 kilometer-long JAGAL II, which was constructed in 1999, runs from Baruth to Rückersdorf, where it's connected with STEGAL pipeline. JAGAL is operated by Wingas.
