Jafar Sharif-Emami

Jafar Sharif-Imami (September 8, 1910 - June 16, 1998) was a Prime Minister of Iran.
Born in Tehran on September 8, 1910 , he completed his studies in Engineering in Germany and Sweden, and served as a Minister in Manuchehr Eqbal's cabinet.
He became Prime Minister in 1960 and also in 1978 only a few months before the revolution.He was notorious as one of the most corrupt officials in Shah's regime (nicknamed Mr. 5 Percent) as well as being the grand master of Freemasonry in Iran, (see http://www.iranica.com/articles/v10f2/v10f235d.html) He was appointed prime minister by Shah in late 1978 because of his ties to clergies. He died on June 16, 1998 in New York City.
