[edit] Ultimate Digimon Part 3
Why did you start removing stuff? If it's because of my comment on the project page, I wasn't saying that the stuff was wrong to be there, just that we needed to make sure to source it. Sorry if it sounded like I was criticizing you or something.KrytenKoro 23:29, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
-
- That makes sense, but DMA is a fansite too, right? So, I guess we should remove those anyway.
- For online translator - Babelfish is the easiest for long sections, I've found. We could also replace most of the stuff you had to remove with stuff from the "official" DigiDex, or the cards, as long as we source the info.KrytenKoro 22:15, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Translation Requests
You can also use this: http://www.digimon.channel.or.jp/cat-digimon-dictionary/index.html, from the franchise's official site.
My best advice would be to use Babelfish, and then summarize it to the best of your ability.
[edit] Leviamon
For example, [Leviamon's profile] immediately translates as:
That monster it has, it is called the "demoniac animal" even from fear to excessively mighty power, the digital world strongest monster where "seven large devil デジモン" have counted as one unit exists. If that long monster which has the enormous jaw that even the digital world it is swallowed, is conveyed and makes awake, when you sleep in the seabed of the net near the dark area, one time, it is said that you despise every デジモン which is categorized to apex, as for other devil type デ ジ モ ン whether the ろ you fear with even angel type デ ジ モ ン and escape. But, as デジモン decoding (decipherment) in existence of the limit where it is possible, the thing which displays the form is equal to nothing, it is said that the nest it is existence of the basis badness which eats in the digital world. Necessary shooting skill enormous gnathal ' ロストルム {羅: Mind of the bill} ' to destroy with everything, long tail ' カウダ {羅: Mind of the tail} ' it mows with everything and pays.
Which we can translate as:
This monster is known as the "Demonic Beast" from fear of its mighty power, and is both the strongest monster in the Digital World and a member of the "Seven Great Demon Lord" Digimon. A lengthy monster whose jaws are enormous enough to swallow even the Digital World, it is said to sleep in the seabed of the Net near the Dark Area, but if awakened, its hatred for Angel Digimon is such that though other Demon Lords won't, it will run away from Angel Digimon in fear. However, as Digimon decode the possible limits of existence, the appearance of the thing is similar to nothingness, so it is said that it builds the foundation for the existence of wickedness in the Digital World. His signature attacks are Rostrum, where he slams down his enormous jaw, destroying everything, and Cauda, where he mows everything down with his long tail.
It takes a while, and its not guaranteed to be correct, but unless you can get a professional translator to do it (or at least, someone with lots of practice), its the best you can do. I looked at the TDP one, which is similar, but I can't see how they arranged it part of the way that they did, as it doesn't match with what I know of Japanese.KrytenKoro 18:47, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] GranDracmon
The King of Vampire Digimon, and a silent Demon Beast Digimon. Since ancient times, he has looked after his castle in the Dark Area, and boasts of such strength that not even the Seven Great Demon Lords can interfere with him. With gentlemanly manner, GranDracmon voice carries a "fascination" that lead to rumors that he is responsible for enticing many Angel Digimon into falling. It is rumored that he has an undying body, and that he is related to how the Dark Area was created in the Digital World, and the truth behind the mysterious "Death-X" Evolution, but because his castle is so hard to get into, it is very difficult to question him about these mysteries. His Proud Skills are "Crystal Revolution", where he instantaneously changes his enemies into crystalline ice, and the intense evil-eye "Eye of the Gorgon", where he gazes into his opponent's heart, enslaving them to the darkness within.[1]
I'm not sure about the X-Antibody bit - I don't remember him having a red border
Or maybe[2]

[edit] Marsmon
Can you give me the original Japanese? Personally, that helps me a lot more than the babelfish version.KrytenKoro 21:34, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

- I found something similar at DVR, but that's a fan-made site (And while helpful, not strictly citeable). Would you happen to know where they got the profile?KrytenKoro 21:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wow - just the first sentence was a pain in the arse. Okay, this is what I have so far, I'll add more as I get them:
- "A God Man Digimon which, from the Digital World's eternal objectivity, is the Olympus Twelve's image of pride in grappling skill. It will probably be victorious because of the triumph and glory of it using every hand, though it will sometimes use a concealed weapon or illegal grappling techniques."

- If you want the bare grammar:
- "(Digital World's (in eternity)) (in neutrality's standpoint)-(It existed) ("Olympus 12 God"'s (1 Image)) (Scuffling [DirectObject]) (Makes Proud)"
- "(Triumph and Glory)'s cause every (hand (DO)) (Using (Te)) (Will Likely Win(?)),"
- "Concealed Weapon (and (non-complete list)), "
- "(Grappling's foul technique (DO)) (to Use) (Sometimes)"
- If you want the bare grammar:
-
-
-
- I'm not sure about the "though" - the sentence is set up as an incomplete list (one of those, "He used peanut butter and jelly, among others" type of things). But I think you can get the basic gist from it, even if the grammar is kind of wiggy.KrytenKoro 00:23, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Devas
I'm slowly working through this. I'm pretty sure that the special moves are Hindu words, but I can't figure out what symbols they would be. Also, maybe "of the Digimon Sovereigns" would work better, as it would make having the pipe unnecessary (If you think so, please modify my comments accordingly).KrytenKoro 17:43, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- When I get done with this, and you check it over, let's add it to the list articles, and add what we can to the deva article. they could probably do with being copyedited a little, though.KrytenKoro 17:05, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to run all of this past my instructor now, I'll add a comment when after she looks at it. After that, maybe a little bit of copyedit to reduce stuff like "A steel pestle, the Treasure Pestle" to "The steel Treasure pestle".KrytenKoro 19:47, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- You don't need to credit me - all I did was translate it. Bandai/Toie came up with it in the first place, and DVR is the one who recorded it (at least, I think DVR got it from the official sources) KrytenKoro 15:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- There also seems to be a problem with the chinese words - for example, Treasure Pestle should be Bao Chu, not Pao Tsu. I'm thinking Chu, might be more appropriate, partially because the symbols used to be Tsu are slightly impossible in Japanese.KrytenKoro 19:53, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to go ahead and move all of this to User:KrytenKoro/DVR Translations. If you have any other translation requests, just post a notice on my talk page (you'll see where), and I'll leave you a note when I finish it and put it on that page. Thanks!KrytenKoro 17:27, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

- Just found out something cool - each of the non-Treasure attacks is named after a Hinduist Hell. Chatsuramon's is...the one where you are forced to eat dogs. =)
- The correct spellings for the attacks (and the "Treasure Hammer" bit) are Śwabhojana, and Bǎo Chuí.
- So, finished, it looks like this.KrytenKoro 02:33, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vamdaemon
The babelfish translation is only useful to me if I can compare it to the original japanese, since it only helps with the words, not the grammar.
Anyway:
(Ultimate Undead Digimon, 18G Vi, NSo, DA) This Digimon is a frenzied computer virus that once died, but was brought back by the power of darkness. It is the ruler of the Undead Digimon, and at night holds the power of invincibility. However, when it becomes daytime, its power is halved. It sometimes kills Digimon to acquire their broken data, which it can change into a malignant virus.
Special Attack
- Night Raid: Operates countless bats to surprise attack the opponent.
Normal Techniques
- Bloody Stream: Attacks with blood like a red, electrical whip.
- Dead Scream: Bats come from both hands like a beam, petrifying the opponent.
- Cloud Minion: Makes a vortex spring forth from its right hand, swallowing the opponent.
- Blood Punch: ---
Other Techniques
- Nightmare Wave: Issues powerful waves that cause the opponent to see hallucinations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KrytenKoro (talk • contribs) 04:44, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I saw the DATS page
One thing I noticed is that you translate "Special Move" as "Skill it is proud of"
The best translation is "Special Move" and "Normal Technique".
But otherwise, good job!KrytenKoro 21:14, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
