The project suggested the connection of Jadranski naftovod with the Russian (and the world's biggest) pipeline (Druzhba pipeline), which is operated by Transneft company. The pipeline connecting these two would go through Hungary and Croatia to Sisak, where it would be connected to Jadranski naftovod. By this Russia would have direct connection to the Omišalj harbour. Due to objections for environmental reasons it was not yet realized.
