[edit] Falkland Islands
Hi, appreciate your comments on the Falkland articles. You made some good points. Would you like to make some suggestions for improvements? Justin A Kuntz 21:40, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello Justin, Sorry, late reply I have been away for a while etc. The main improvements I would like to see is any effort to keep the text neutral and avoid what I see as the romantic, irredentist Argentine view seeping through. Of course I have my own point of view but I am always happy to defer to consensus when it is supported by facts. (As opposed to truth which is a matter of interpretation). Points of view also need to be counteracted e.g. in the Sovereignty intro it mentions the Argentine POV that the present Islanders do not have the right of self determination because they are not aboriginal. Were Vernet's settlers aboriginal?? Also as the present population of Argentina is 98% descended from European immmigrants they are also not aboriginal. Get my point? Such a statement is simply a propaganda exercise even though it is an inherent truth it is out of context and irrelevant given that it applies to many countries that have claimed the right o self-determination.Not sure I am correctly replying to you by writing here!!Malvinero 09:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sovereignty of the Falkland Islands
Hi, your comments of the activities of Jewett under the command of Heroina were bang on. My recent research as confirmed the facts as your reported them and I've changed the article as a result. Justin talk 23:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
