[edit] Speedy deletion of I Can Do Better

A tag has been placed on I Can Do Better, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Avril didn't confirm this on the interview, JK (or Joel, I don't know which one) asked her if it would be the second single after she performed it live, but she didn't reply.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Andrew4793 t c 21:59, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use images in galleries/lists

Twice now [1][2] you have re-added album cover images to Let Go (Avril Lavigne album) after they were removed [3][4] for violating our policy on the use of fair use, copyrighted images in lists and galleries. Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria items #3(a) and #8. The use of images in this manner is not permitted and has once again been undone. Please do not re-instate the images on this article or on any other similar discography type section of an article. If you have questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 12:36, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Your changes against policy [5][6] have been reverted. If you persist in doing this, I will recommend you be temporarily blocked from editing. Please stop. I am happy to answer questions on this matter, but insisting on revert warring will achieve nothing. --Durin 16:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Since you insist on re-inserting fair use album covers against policy, I've requested you be temporarily blocked. --Durin 17:21, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
    • And all of your re-insertions have, once again, been undone. --Durin 17:23, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Request to have you blocked has been placed [7]. --Durin 17:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked for 31 hours for disruptively violating our policies on the use of non-free content. When the block expires, please consider more productive ways to work through your changes. (ESkog)(Talk) 17:33, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Runaway (Avril Lavigne song)

An editor has nominated Runaway (Avril Lavigne song), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Runaway (Avril Lavigne song) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Runaway (Avril Lavigne song), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 19:08, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Stephanie mistake.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Stephanie mistake.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:47, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Stephanie tightrope album.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Stephanie tightrope album.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:34, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Do You See Me? (song)

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Do You See Me? (song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. -FisherQueen (Talk) 13:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bleeding Love

Please don't change the format of dates. Most British people and many people internationally write dates in day-month-year order, e.g., 12 December 1904. Most Americans use month-day-year order, e.g., December 12, 1904. If the article is about an American topic, use month-day-year. If it is a British topic, use day-month-year. If neither, leave it as originally written. Many Americans or British people take offence if an article about their country, written in their local version of English, is changed around to a version they don't use. So please do not do that.

Dates are usually enclosed in two square brackets, as in [[12 December]] or [[December 12]]. This means that you can set your preferences (if you look around your screen you'll see the word preferences; click on it and follow the instructions) to ensure that you see all dates in the format you want, whether date-month-year, month-date-year or yyyy-mm-dd. The general rules on how Wikipedia articles are written can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Rules specific to dates and numbers can be seen in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers).

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on the web's fastest growing encyclopædia (or encyclopedia, if you write it that way!). Thank you. — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 19:35, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Making things pretty

Hi, thanks for helping out with the encyclopedia. I appreciate your attention to the Amy Studt article. I generally like it if things look good, but there are some things that should be avoided.

  • The 'width' parameter in tables should not be used, they should be automatically sized. This will ensure that song titles are not broken over multiple lines (unless necessary), which they are after your recent edit.
  • Flags are generally unhelpful. Consider how many flags you know by heart, then imagine what flags someone in the middle of China knows, and don't forget that many flags are indistinguishable.
  • Centering numbers in a table really serves no purpose. It doesn't make it more readable, it does the opposite.
  • The en dash (–) is used to signal the absence of data for a table cell. Neither the hyphen (-) or the em dash (—) should be used for that.

I only hope you will take these things into consideration. I believe with it, you will improve Wikipedia even better. Have a nice day. -- Pepve (talk) 21:59, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Flag icons in infobox

Regarding your edits to infoboxes: please do not replace the names of countries with the respective flags, as this is out of compliance with Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs, and among other things, the reader won't learn as quickly what country the flag is representing, particularly if they don't know what country it does represent. For more information, read Wikipedia:Don't overuse flags. Thanks. Lillygirl (talk) 02:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Kate Alexa's second studio album

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Kate Alexa's second studio album, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? tomasz. 21:21, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
