Did someone have a (non-copyrighted of course) photo of Le Mans 1969 start ? Ericd 17:21 Apr 12, 2003 (UTC)
Why was this copyright notice added ? Is there any copyvio ? Ericd 15:56, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)
I will remove : "To this date he holds the most complete palmares in car racing history." This is very subjective. IMO Ickx doesn't compare to Graham Hill or Mario Andretti... Ericd 13:46, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
This page requires a bit of clean up as it is not being told in a orderly manner which makes it confusing.
About the hobby bit, it is totally true that he likes art and knows it well as he, according to one issue of Classic Cars, once encouraged Michael Turner to stop an unfinished painting of the 1977 Le Mans 24 hour race as Jacky felt if Michael completed the painting it would remove the feel of being in the race. Also this guy do knows his colors well as I once got him to sign a Goodwood F0S programme, he chose to sign where a blueish picture of a Porsche 917, despite not driven one in his career, because I was using a silver pen. Reason he chose to sign there was he said blue goes with silver.
What was it that he was awarded at the 2000 24 Hours of LeMans by the town of Le Mans, being the first race driver to do so. Willirennen 4 May 2006 19.19 (utc)
[edit] Real name?
I'm certain I read once that Ickx's name was originally "Jacques Bernard," but that when he began racing, he used the name "Ickx" (based on the French pronounciation of the letter "X"), to hide his connection to his well-known father. I'm afraid I don't have a source off-hand for that.
- I have read the same many years ago. However, this is not true. Ickx is his real name. He also has a brother, Pascal, who wrote in Belgian newspapers and magazines articles devoted on auto sport. Furthermore, although not common, Ickx is a name you can find under several occurrences in Brussels telephone directory. --Lebob-BE 23:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kill trivia section?
The trivia section itself isn't kosher per Wiki standards. Is there anything in there of value that needs to be integrated into the article? Only one of the trivia points has a citation. Twohlford (talk) 03:41, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
