[edit] Redirect Needed

Well, renaming and redirect now that it's no longer Alltel Stadium! 207.203.80.14 22:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New Alltel Stadium

While it's not a huge stadium, there is a stadium that now hold the name 'Alltel Stadium'. Should there be some mention of this, or some movement in that reguard? -Colslax 06:11, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nickname

I added the nickname "The Jack" to the info-box and it was removed citing no known use of the term. So I give you a few links showing the use of said nickname:

I appreciate your sincere efforts. You have made progress, but, in my opinion, it's still not enough. Why not? Well, first of all, you really only provided one source, Vic Ketchman. Now I must admit, Ketchman's use of the term really gave me pause. (For any who might possibly be unaware, Vic Ketchman is arguably the most knowledgeable authority on the Jags, as senior editor of jaguars.com. He's as inside and in-the-know as anyone, so he's a very serious source.) Reading his use, not once, but twice, made me wonder if I really had missed this whole nickname thing. So I did a bit of googling myself. The result? "The Jack" is simply a term that Ketchum has chosen to use himself, on a temporary basis, until such time as Jax Muni Stadium has a new corporate sponsorship deal. This is the link to his explanation, but I'll just include his actual words from this past August, in response to a reader question about the stadium name:
I agree with you. I like Jaguars Stadium. Obviously, at some point or another, the stadium is going to get a corporate name, but Jaguars Stadium sure is a lot better than Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. JMS is city-owned and the city is probably concerned that if it named the stadium Jaguars Stadium, taxpayers would complain the team got free naming rights, but I’m with you on this one. I don’t even like writing the name the way it is because it takes up so much space. I’ll tell you what, until it gets a corporate name, I’m gonna call it “The Jack.” Is everybody OK with that?
This was from 3 1/2 months ago, and I haven't heard anyone else use the term. I'm not saying that I know that it's not in popular usage as a nickname, but I still need to see more evidence before I'm convinced. Unschool (talk) 03:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
