[edit] Ryan Adams in the intro?
I see no reason to single out one "favorite son" for mention in the intro, especially given that there is a subsection listing famous natives of Jacksonville. ForDorothy 23:46, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
ARGUABLY because he is more linked with the town having written about it extensively. Fullerov 16:07, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable people born in Jacksonville
Is anyone checking this list of people born in Jacksonville to see if they are truly notable? Like, for example, the Ninja??
[edit] Some things of note that I believe should be edited:
The latest two additions to the famous natives should be removed, those people are not famous.
The external link to topsail-island.info should be removed, the site does not target citizens of Jacksonville.
A link to Jactionville.com should be added to external links. Markfulton 05:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reference to Pawn Shops/Tattoo Parlors, etc
I have removed that reference since it does not meet citation guidelines as per WP:CITE. I have also tagged this with citation needed. I looked through the Census page and was unable to find anything. If anyone can find this, I will be glad to update it! Rob110178 20:57, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's simply a well-written vandalism. I removed it. (Portland, Oregon is generally considered to have the record on strip clubs, at least, if you were curious) Ben (talk) 06:19, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Intro section
Per WP:LEAD, mentioning of strip clubs, tattoo parlors, and Jacksonville being "J-action-ville" does not belong in the intro. If it must be included (it has little, if any, encyclopedic value), then the lead is not the place to mention it. APK yada yada 22:13, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
