[edit] Birth Date

Lane's year of birth is given as 1947 in many sources of fan lore, including IMDB. But the interview with her in ReelTime's "Myth Makers" series gives her year of birth as 1941, and cites stage performances from the early 1960s (which would be impossible with the later birth date). This is also more consistent with the well-known story that she was considered for the part of Susan Foreman in mid-1963. Nwhyte 18:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

I should add that this means the oft-repeated statement that she was the youngest person to play a Doctor Who companion is not true. Matthew Waterhouse and Sarah Sutton were the youngest male and female actors respectively to play Doctor Who companions.
