[edit] Criticism section
This page is pretty short for a criticism section. Kinda takes away balance plus its not sourced. Its gone. Disagreement? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jasper23 (talk • contribs) .
- It's legitimate criticism, especially when you LIVE in Nevada. Are you paid by the DNC to provide "balance"? I find it ironic that most of the bio stuff is courtesy of the candidate. That's fine for much of it, but this is the problem with WIKI. It isn't peer reviewed (you sure as hell don't count, Jasper). Some of what I've provided for substantiation was yanked in another edit...e.g. Aaron Russo (which specifically cited material from WIKI's own entry) and other quotes from the Nevada Appeal, Sparks Tribune et al.
- Don't presume to lecture when it's so apparent that you've got a huge bias against ANYONE who provides criticism. But if you want non-internet, legitimate sources then I'll provide them. You see, out here in Nevada, not everything is on the internet. I don't want to see ANY MORE deletions just because it's not a source published on the internet. You are NOT the final arbiter of all this. You're a self-appointed bully. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.142.20.209 (talk • contribs) .

- Hey, enough of the personal attacks. All I asked for was a discussion of the issue. No need to fly off the handle. I have not seen a single source for any of the criticsms that have been put on the page. I dont care if they had been here at one time or another. They were not in any of your reverts that I have seen. Jeez. What about my issue with the page being too short for a criticism section. I know I am not the final arbiter but neither are you. No need to attack me because you dont feel the need to discuss any changes that you make to the page. I discussed my changes and asked if anyone had any disagreements. All you did was revert. Who is the bully here?Jasper23 20:43, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

- Jasper...I know I'm not the final arbiter, which is why I didn't pull anyone else's edits off the page. Wish we could say the same about YOU. What about the page being too short for a criticism section? What does the size have to do with anything? Do you know so LITTLE about WIKI to not know that this all a work in progress. There is no specific admonition against the comments I posted. They fall under both fair comment and criticism and can be found in millions of WIKI entries. I made no personal attacks on you. I simply asked if you worked for the candidate. You need to learn what an ad hominem attack is and what the difference is between it and CRITICISM. BTW...Jasper you are STILL a bully because you didn't check enough of the page's history to understand that my edits were not only FAIR but also represent the views of hundreds of thousands of Nevadans (which was documented). You obviously have an agenda and by God, you'll do what it takes to get your way. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.142.20.209 (talk • contribs) .

- Seriously, you need to calm down. All I asked for was a discussion of the issue. Nothing more. You didnt feel the need to discuss anything. You were the one putting in unsourced material over and over again. I asked for your opinion on multiple occasions. And you did attack me personally. Yes, calling someone a bully, not a peer, working for a campaign and biased are personal attacks. Please just be civil and we can discuss the edits you would like to make. You still dont seem to be in a mood to discuss your unsourced edits. However, I am. I have always been open to discuss your edits. You have never bothered to use the talk page as I have asked you so many times to do. Please refrain from future personal attacks and please sign your comments. Jasper23 20:57, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

- Jasper...you NEVER took the time to look at other edits and look at the citations I DID make. Please spare me the condescending "calm down" nonsense. Yes, you are a bully. Your wholesale pulling and reverting the page without checking any of my previous sources (and holding me to standards that aren't held up elsewhere on WIKI) make you one. You're not a peer until you treat my edits (whether sourced or not) that others on WIKI get. FYI...stop ordering me to do things, as if you pay for this site. My form of citation and criticism is completely accepted on this site. Your entire attitude smacks of a need for control...one of the hallmarks of bullying. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.142.20.209 (talk • contribs) .

- Seriously, get a life. Why would I look back through your edits? Why is it my job to check your past edits because you dont know how to cite your sources? There is obviously some emotional thing that you are bringing to this discussion. Whatever. Get over it. If you add unsourced materials I will delete it. If you add unsourced material and want to talk about it, that option is there. Once again. Get over it. Stop the name calling. And add your sig. Jasper23 03:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

- I'm sorry that you don't know the difference between criticism and an ad hominem attack. Judging by your spelling ability and general writing style, I shouldn't expect any different. HOWEVER, your taking me task for "unsourced material" smacks of bias. Have you ACTUALLY read WIKI's TOS et al.? The Jack Carter entry on WIKI is basically what's been put out by his pr reps. It's not balanced and it's in violation of WIKI's TOS. You're the one who's bringing their emotionality to this discussion. I have NEVER yanked someone else's edits. I have added my own in the past (with appropriate citations) and they were pulled off by a pretentious DNC staffer like YOU. Go through any number of other accepted WIKI entries and they have included the same type of criticisms that I have (and most without ANY secondary sources). Your mind apparently is so puerile that you take as personal what is meant as a general criticism. Again...stop ordering around people as if you have real power. I think the term troll applies to you. You can take that however you want. However...please answer me one question (if you can pry yourself away from the porn sites), why is a citation from WIKI regarding the electoral numbers in the 1998 gubernatorial election not appropriate? I've cited it more than three times and you STILL say I haven't brought any substantiation. How much does the Carter Campaign pay you? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.142.20.209 (talk • contribs) .

- Sorry, if you are undergoing some personal problems. I really do hope you pull through and I wish you the best of luck in life. I really dont understand what is going on with you, but it must be very emotional. Best wishes....Jasper23 04:26, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

- FYI, User:70.142.20.209 has been warned about abusive edit summaries and the no personal attacks rule. Wikipedia does not prosper with this sort of behavior. --Dhartung | Talk 08:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Children's names
I added spouse info to the political box. Does anyone know his daughters' last names so we can add his children to the political box? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 140.254.224.212 (talk • contribs) .
- I put in information about his kids (I actually used to attend their stepfather's church) and his wife's kids. They're all adults skirting the edge of article notability. To my knowledge, neither daughter is married. --Dhartung | Talk 08:27, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Both daughters are married, as is his son Jason. 64.250.228.242 03:07, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Jack Carter's daughter has kept her maiden name. She goes by the name of Sarah Carter.--Susan Nunes
